NGC6188 – Dragons of Ara

Located approximately 4,300 light years from Earth in the constellation Ara, NGC6188 is an emission nebula commonly refered to as The Fighting Dragons of Ara due to the claw like appearance of the cloud formations in the nebula. The alternative historical nam is the Rim Nebula.

There is an associated open cluster (NGC6193) which is responsible for a region of reflection nebulosity

NGC6188 – Dragons of Ara

Imaged through May 2023 over several nights in between clouds and rain, this is my first attempt at imaging the Fighting dragons of Ara (NGC6188), also known as The Rim Nebula.
