IC2944 _ Running Chicken 2024

Images taken through early 2024, this is my latest rendition of the Running Chicken nebula in SHO pallet with overlayed RGB stars.

April 21, 2024 in IC2944 - Running Chicken Nebula.

Carina Nebula Revisited

A revisit of the widefield of the Carina Nebula, using the QHY268M camera and Antlia filters.

March 17, 2024 in NGC3372 - The Carina Nebula.

A Valentines Rose

Image through late January into early February 2024, this target was finished just in time for Valentines.

February 18, 2024 in NGC2237 - Rosette Nebula.

SH2-308 – Dolphin Head Nebula

Commonly known as the Dolphin Head Nebula, or more formally SH2-308, this nebula is located just south of Sirius, the brightest star in the sky, in the constellation Canis Major (Big Dog)

The Horse Head Revisted

A perpetual favourite to visit, this year I tried with the QHY268 and Antlia filters on the ED80.

January 20, 2024 in B33 Horse Head.

Tarantula Nebula – Wide field

A wider field view of the Tarantula nebula, taken through November 2023 based on the SHO pallette.

December 7, 2023 in Tarantula.

NGC6188 – Dragons of Ara

Imaged through May 2023 over several nights in between clouds and rain, this is my first attempt at imaging the Fighting dragons of Ara (NGC6188), also known as The Rim Nebula.

May 25, 2023 in NGC6188 - Dragons of Ara.

The Running Chicken Nebula

Imaged in the late part of April 2023, the Running Chicken Nubula (IC2944), or Lambda Centauri nebula, is an emission nebula associated with an open cluster.

April 25, 2023 in ASI1600mm-C, Emission Nebula, IC2944 - Running Chicken Nebula, ioptron CEM60, Skywatcher ED80 Black Diamond.

The Carina Nebula

I thought it was time to break out the wider field imaging gear and get the ED80 back into action on the CEM60 mount.

March 6, 2023 in Emission Nebula, NGC3372 - The Carina Nebula.
Centaurus A

NGC5128 Centaurus A – 13 July 2020

My first attempt at Centaurus A which was captured in late June – early July 2020

July 13, 2020 in ASI1600mm-C, Galaxies, ioptron CEM60, NGC5128 Centaurus A, Skywatcher ED80 Black Diamond.
